Lockport, Ill.: Austin and LeB Presents has been traveling the south and mid-west to bring clean, family-friendly entertainment with their style of “dancing, sketch improv, bad singing, and much more!” Audiences have raved about this duo and PureFest organizers are thrilled to bring some southern charm to the second annual festival.
Austin and LeB Presents are Austin Moyers, is a successful businessman in the Knoxville area and “has the best hair in east Tennessee,” and LeBrandon Marie, a youth pastor, high school teacher, and basketball coach. The pair have been using comedy with a Gospel message to share their faith with audiences. Their current tour has dates in Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, and Indiana. Their visit to PureFest will be their first to the Chicago area.
In addition to local media in Knoxville, Austin and LeB have been featured on The Clean Comedy Podcast and The Bible Belt Bros Podcast, both national podcasts with a wide listener base. It was during their recent interview on The Bible Bros Podcast, based in Oklahoma, that PureFest creator Dave Ebert first learned about the duo.
“I recently discovered the Bible Belt Bros and was catching up on their recent shows,” remarked Ebert. “I listened to their show with Austin and LeB, and thought those guys are incredibly funny! They also have a heart and that charm that eastern Tennessee is known for.”
“We connected through social media and the conversation started about bringing a growing , nationally touring team to PureFest. Once the details came together, it became a real joy to confirm they’d be our headline act,” continued Ebert.
LeBrandon Marie, one half of Austin and LeB Presents, is equally excited about being a part of PureFest. “We think of PureFest as a great outreach for the whole community of Chicago and surrounding cities. To come together, and to be able to laugh and enjoy one another in the spirit of love and joy, it’s what Jesus wanted us to do anyway!”
Registration is on-going as teams from around the nation have expressed interest in participating in PureFest 2019. The festival is looking for faith-based improv and sketch teams to round out the lineup. New this year is the opportunity for individuals to register to be cast in one of the two Wild Card teams. The Wild Card teams will meet and improvise together for a one-time-only performance at PureFest.
PureFest 2019 will be at Cross Point Church in Lockport, Ill., on Friday, Sept. 28, which is a fellowship night for performers, and Saturday, Sept. 28. More information and registration details for teams and individuals can be found at PureFest.org.
